Jack Casady of Jefferson Airplane was arrested after a fight broke out on stage during a concert when the police had been called 'pigs'. Grace Slick was 'Maced' and another group member injured at the show in Akron.

Rose Bampton (99) - American opera singer; a mezzo-soprano, later a soprano, who made her debut as "Siebel" in Gounod's Faust in 1929. She sang primarily at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York City, but also at major opera houses worldwide.
