Stéphane Grappelli (89) - French jazz violinist; he and Django Reinhardt played in the Quintet of the Hot Club of France during 1933-39 producing a sensational series of recordings & performances. He remained at the top of his field till the end. Don "Suarcane" Harris (61) - guitarist, pianist, 50's duo Don & Dewey /Little Richard/ John Mayall/ Frank Zappa (pulmonary disease) Zayda Peña Arjona (28 - ) lead singer for the Mexican band Zayda y los Culpables (shot in the back by an unknown gunman at Peña Mónaco Motel in Matamoros, Tamaulipas. This was not fatal, but the following day several assailants entered the hospital and shot her death. She was not involved with drugs on any level)
